The I-55 towards the south near the Cass Ave. in darien because of a fatal crash

At least 1 person died in an accident that left the i-55 near Darien and left a half-up uprising in a ditch next to the highway.

All lanes towards the south are closed in the Cass Avenue with Milepost 273, said Illinois State Police.

The soldiers reacted to the location shortly before 12:30 p.m. to achieve a fatal crash with several vehicles. A semi tractor without a trailer was still littered next to the highway from 4 p.m.

The ramp from IL-83 towards the south to the I-55 towards the south and the ramp from the i-83 to the north to the i-55 towards the south is closed over a longer period of time, said ISP.

Tow trucks are on site and are waiting for the investigators to end the crash on the site. It is not known how long the road closures will take.

The state police have not published any further information.
