UDP requires an independent probe to deepen the scandal of the Ministry of Transport

The United Democratic Party (UDP) again has a complete and independent examination in what it describes as “widespread corruption” in the Ministry of Transport.

In a press release published on Thursday, the UDP criticized CEO Chester Williams' proposal that the problem is limited to the sub -reporting by employees with a medium level and it is referred to as the “scapegoat and suffering”. The party warned of an attempt to protect political elites from the exam and asked Williams not to succumb to political pressure.

The UDP claims that there have been concerns about irregularities in the Ministry since the beginning of 2022.

The UDP rejected all internal examinations that were led by people who had previously been involved in the Ministry and insisted that only the general office's office can handle the matter credibly and transparently.

“Examining yourself is neither credible nor transparent,” said the party. “Only a complete, independent examination – free of political interference – can uncover the truth and restore the public's trust.”
