Peshawar: Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) of the Khyber Paktunkhwa Assembly, spokesman Babar Saleem Swati, has a strong displeasure about the suddenly Transfer of the province's accountant, Naseer-Din Sarwar.

In a letter dated May 22, 2025, which was aimed at the General Controller in Islamabad, the chairman gave serious concerns about the transfer and called for an explanation of the authorities.

Naseer-UD-DIN has now been appointed general director of investigations, vigilance and regulation, where he is responsible for irregularities.

In the letter that was written to the general controller of the contest in the name of the speaker of the PAC's additional secretary, underlines the concerns of the committee regarding the time and the effects of the transfer. The letter clarifies that the committee for public accounts is currently examining illegal payments and embezzlement of 40 billion rupees in the Upper Kohistan Works department for the financial years 2019 to 2024.

The committee emphasized that such financial irregularities cannot occur without the consultation or negligence of certain civil servants. In a recently carried out meeting, it became known that official corruption had led to a serious mismanagement of public finances, which required transparent investigations and accountability.

In this context, Mr. Sarwar had been instructed to take measures against corrupt civil servants. According to the committee, his sudden transfer examinations and efforts to accept financial misconduct could derail.

The Federal Office also indicates the letter to fulfill its constitutional obligations in accordance with Articles 169 and 170 and to work fully together with the PAC. The committee has also asked Mr. Sarwar to be instructed to continue his role in the investigation, and that the Federal Department concerned must appear in his next meeting in front of the committee. Copies of the letter were forwarded to the chairman of the committee for public accounts of the National Assembly and the Auditor General of Pakistan.
