Fuji TV with scandal hit breaks off from a lifelong culture

Corporate culture

Tokyo, May 1st (Jiji Press) -The scandal hit Fuji Television Network Inc. has announced details of his reform plans, including a departure from his four decades-old slogan, which focuses on fun.

The broadcaster said on Wednesday that in view of the public criticism of the handling of the scandal for sexual assault, in which the former TV star Masahiro Nakai was involved, he will follow a “first human rights” approach.

The slogan “If it is not fun, it is not a television” was used in the 1980s by the former Hisashi Hieda heavyweight, who was head of the program at the time and built the company's golden age. It symbolized the company's culture, which led to a number of hit dramas and multi -fold shows.

“It is a distorted idea that you can sacrifice something else to be some fun,” said Fuji President Kenji Shimizu. “Nobody should come at the expense of anyone.”

As part of the reform plans, Fuji TV will restructure its organization, including the dissolution and restructuring of its most important programs for programming and variety.
