Viral video is not what it seems

A video with hundreds of thousands of views on Instagram receives a mixed reaction from the online community. Harrison Wiedman posted a video at the beginning of this month, in which he shows that he tells the story of his shark attack, starting with “I was attacked by a shark today”. He adds the video to the video after telling his story. Wiedman added a trigger warning at the top of his postal signature.

Wiedman begins the video with the explanation that he heads a diving expedition in Indonesia, and although he was previously in water with sharks, he did not expect to see a shark that day. When he saw it, he felt excited, but then it attacked him. Wieiedman explains that he is doing well. At this point, the audience is wondering: what's going on here?

In fact, the first indication that something is not as it seems, the caption. According to Wiedman's Trigger warning, he writes: “So beautiful creatures, which of course are only curious. This was a cool experience.” Not many survivors of hair chews would describe experience as a “cool”.

Look at Wiedmans “I was attacked by a shark” and then read below:

Does that count as a shark attack?

It turned out that the shark attack was quite tame. The film material seemed to be a bit anti -climactic after the structure, but I have no doubt that experience in real life would have been scary. The online community did not hold back in the comment area.

“How can you call that that is attacked by a shark? Literally only encountered you. If you put a negative picture on sharks for clicks,” is all, “wrote one person.

“Please as a colleague, stop using the words” attack “and” shark “while we want to have the negative image of sharks. So how about a shark incident or” accident with shark “or in her case”, which strangely approached a point to a point that I no longer felt very comfortable, “wrote another.

Others had a sense of humor. For example, a Tikok user wrote: “I have no idea how you survived such an aggressive Boop attack.”

We are serious, we are happy that neither human nor shark have been damaged.
