Jalen Brunson, Knicks, criticized by NBA fans as Haliburton, Pacers take 2-0-ECF leadership

Pascal Siakam scored 39 points to lead the Indiana Pacers to a 114-109 street victory against the New York Knicks in game 2 of the final Eastern Conference.

Tyrese Haliburton added 14 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds for the Pacers, who cited the Knicks 110-100 in the fourth quarter before New York went into the 9-0 run late.

Two free throws from Aaron Nesmith gave the Pacers a 112-109 lead, which gave the Knicks the opportunity to bind a 14 second lead.

However, a long Jalen Brunson Drei was of the brand. Pacers Center Myles Turner received the back rash and made two free throws for the five-point lead with 4.2 seconds ahead. A late Brunson Three was eliminated and the Pacers earned a 2-0 lead to get home.

Brunson scored 36 points and 11 templates for the Knicks, while Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges added 20 each.

This was a back and forth game before Indiana took control in the fourth quarter. The Knicks finally got hot late, but it wasn't enough and now Indiana has complete control over this series.

Siakams 39 points came at 15 out of 23 shootings and scored 23 or almost 50 percent of the 49 points in Indiana in Indiana in the first two quarters. He kept the Pacers in the game when the rest of the team had difficulty going.

But the rest of the team fit too late for its intensity and production. A common topic in the fourth quarter was a pacer who hit a key bucket (normally three) and prevents the kinks from making a run.

Aaron Nesmith met a three to record the Pacers after a short 5-0 bridge with 97: 89. Myles gymnast made a three to answer a bridge bucket for a 103-97 edge. And Tyrese Haliburton connected to a clutch triple to answer two free throws from Brunson for an advantage of 106-99.

Indiana made five threes in the fourth quarter alone, and Turner in particular was a massive problem because 13 of his 16 points came in the last 11 minutes.

Ultimately, this shows the history of this series. On a night in which the all-NBA star of the Pacers, Haliburton, did not make much offensive (5-of-16 shooting), he was able to rely on his teammates and the depth of the Pacers to help. Siakam wore the team the whole game and gymnast was sensational in the fourth.

In the meantime, the Knicks had a few problems.

First, Brunson wore a large part of the offensive burden. Apart from a Josh Hart Layup (outside of an assistant from Brunson), no other player outside of Brunson or Bridges in the fourth quarter (you can also connect the last 2:30 a.m. in the third quarter for this route).

The Knicks also received little goal aid from the bank (11 points compared to 21 for the reserves of the Pacers).

Second, Karl-Anthony Towns had a quiet offensive night compared to his standard (20 points) and was minus 20 because the team's defense at the court did not correspond to him. That evening, New York went down much better with the reserve Big Man Mitchell Robinson, whose energy, which prevented the rebounding and defensive effort from moving away.

In addition, the defense of the Knicks was porous again. The defense of New York this year was not the business card (No. 14 in efficiency per basketball reference), but it failed in this series if necessary. New York allowed 20 points in the last 2:39 in the regulation on the way to loss of game 1. In game 2, the Knicks simply gave up too many wide -open buckets, both in the color and beyond the three -point line. It was a common topic that ultimately exerted a lot more pressure on the crime (Brunson) to produce than necessary.

And that means the back of the kinks on the wall. They go to Indiana and need a victory of two, only to keep the series alive.

Ultimately, despite an astonishing season for a team that made the final of the conference for the first time since 2000, this was a difficult effort. This series would obviously have a completely different feeling if the Knicks in game 1 did not fade a 14-point lead with 2:45 in regulation in regulation before they have lost 138-135 in extra time.

But that happened and the Knicks could not recover in game 2.

Fans and analysts published the efforts of the Knicks on Friday.

New York will hope for an urgently needed victory on Sunday when the Indiana team visits at 8 p.m. at 8 p.m.
