Rhett Lowder suffers “significant” weird injuries

The Reds received some difficult news about the Pitching front this week. Rookie rights Rhett LowderWho was on the road all season with a forearm pollution, suffered a new injury on Thursday during a rehabilitation start in Triple-A Louisville.

Manager Terry Francona told reporters (including Mark Sheldon from MLB.com) that Lowder suffered a “rather significant” strain on his left slope. Francona noticed that the team still did not know the specific timeline because it was waiting for the results of the imaging on Friday morning. In any case, it will surely delay its return to the Big League rotation.

The 23 -year -old Lowder was the seventh overall selection in the draft of 2023. The Wake Forest product flew through the minors and received his first MLB call last August. This was sometimes motivated by injury, but he held his rotary point until the end of the season and took the ball six times. Lowder led a 1.17 ERA in his first 30 2/3 Big League Innings. His MLB strike and his walking numbers were not nearly as impressive, but he had started more than a quarter of the opponents against a 5.4% of over 22 Minor League.

This positioned him to fight for a place in the back of the rotation in spring training. During his throwing program, Lowder reported a little elbow pain outside of the season and led the red to play him slowly and start the season on the injured list. They sent him to their complex from Arizona on May 6th. He made a high appearance five days later and jumped to Louisville on May 16. Lowder only recorded one and allowed four runs with the bats during his first start. Yesterday he suffered the injury in his first place on the second inner after he had thrown a goalless frame in the first.

The red numbers Lowder from his current rehab task. You will probably bring it to the 60-day injury list if you will have to create a 40-man squad. This would be relocated by the opening day and would not affect his authorization to re -establish it over this weekend.
