Tangipahoa Parish prison Eskapee captured on Friday evening | Crime/police

An inmate that escaped from the Tangipahoa municipality on Thursday and was taken back on Friday evening, said the sheriff's office.

The Sheriff's office of the sheriff Tangipahoa attributed the Louisiana State Police for its support in the search and arrest of Tra'von Johnson (19) in an e -mail shortly before 9 p.m. The e -mail contained a photo of Johnson in handcuffs with authorities in the Bennett Road in Amite.

No further details were available.

Johnson was in prison and waited for his alleged role in a home vasion of 2022 in the Hammond area in court in which a man was killed and the child's child was injured.

The Gerald sticker of the sheriff said that the escape had occurred when the prison workers cleaned up water in a flooded cell on Thursday at 4:15 p.m. After the cleanup, a back door that leads into the courtyard was opened for about a minute – the reasons why is unclear – and Johnson and another man slip out.

The other inmate helped Johnson over the fence before he came back into his cell. Stickers said a real head number should have been taken, but not. Johnson's absence was not noticed for another six hours after someone called the Sheriff's office to ask if Johnson was still custody.

Since then, four prison workers have been put on administrative leave, said sticker.
