A bride of Karnataka's Hassan left her wedding ceremony and refused to marry the groom. She said that she was in love with another man and therefore could not continue with the wedding ceremony. This happened before the groom the Mangalutra around the bride band's neck.

According to reports, the incident took place in the Sri Adichunchanagiri Kalyana Mantapapa in Hassan. The bride Pallavi is a postgraduate, while the groom, Venugopal G, is a teacher at a state school.

A video of the wedding ceremony was posted by an X (formerly Twitter) user “Ghar Ke Kalesh”. The title of the article states: “Bride Pallavi refused to marry at the last moment, and said she loves someone else. She left the wedding location with her lover under police protection.”

Pallavi reported reportedly the marriage to Venugopal when the wedding rituals were carried out. She got up and said that she didn't want to continue with the wedding rituals and went away. She later joined in the room and refused to get out. The video shows that she later went out under police protection with her lover.

The video collected almost 126.9,000 views, and several people also commented on the contribution. One of the users wrote: “She decided to do luck about customs and rituals. Would have been better if the choice had been made earlier.”

Another user commented: “People who pretend that she hadn't already told her parents about it. But for Indian parents Kulcha and traditions are most important, not the happiness of her daughter. The groom is the victim in this case, but also the woman and her lover, the victim of society and parents.”
