A hot weekend

Sarasota, Florida (WWSB) – The sunny sky greets us every day at the Memorial Day weekend. And a few thunderstorms appear every day in the afternoon, mainly east of the I-75. The taup points fell into the 1960s on Friday. Now taup points for the weekend are increasing to low 70s.

The weather at the Memorial Day mainly looks dry for our beaches and coastal cities. A few isolated showers and thunderstorms will appear every day, mainly east of the I-75, and move to East Florida. If you have a look at the east, you can get an interesting lightning display in the evenings. We have no big storms that go on our way, so no widespread rains. When we move to June, our daily thunderstorms of our rainy season will become more common. The winds in the upper atmosphere are currently pressing the daily storms towards East Florida.

We have 8 days until the official start of the hurricane season. The National Hurricane Center already spends a daily tropical weather view. No tropical cyclones are expected for the Atlantic, the Golf or the Caribbean for the next 7 days. A disturbance in the Pacific West of Central America has a 70% chance of developing. This storm moves to the west at sea.

The beaches are pretty quiet for the holiday weekend. Most thunderstorms will be far inside. Rip Current Risk is low and winds from the west of 5 to 10 miles per hour in the afternoon. The UV index is now extreme and stays there in summer. You can get a burn in 5 to 10 minutes so that shadows or sunscreen are important, especially in the maximum UV hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Boat conditions have light winds and a light hack tree with 1-foot seas.
