Sports highlights in Saginaw regions: Heritage deserves dramatic young lacrosse tournament gain

Colin Workman gave the Lacrosse team of the Heritage Boy a dramatic victory and achieved the game winner in the extension to send the Hawks into a regional finale.

John Ryan was presented by John Ryan to give Heritage a 12:11 overtime victory over Midland Dow to win a place in the regional championship against Haslett in the Midland Community Stadium on Wednesday.

Dow banded the game with 17 seconds remaining regulation and set up overtime heroicism.

Elden Wideman directed the Heritage Criminal Center with five goals and two templates, with Logan Boettcher adding three goals.

Ryan had six floor balls and two templates, while Josh Larsen scored 14 parades. Freddie Alvarado won 13 Faceoffs.

Girl lacrosse

Haslett 13, Heritage 10: The most successful season in the history of Heritage Girls Lacrosse ended a regional loss. Beghan Hamilton led the offense with four goals, while Lily Huffman, Izzy Ella Sopcak and Claire added two goals. Huffman and Eva Lisik had interceptions while Molly Baldwin had 17 parades in the goal. The Hawks, who ended 14: 2, took up his second title in a row in a row and set up a program with 25 goals, which in the history of the MHSAA set the third highest a program-in-game record. Hamilton also set a heritage record for most goals in a single game with 10.

Girl football

Hemlock 8, Ithaca 0: Hemlock improved to 9-7-1 and rose to a regional semi-finals against Nouvel with 7. Izzy Krueger led the huskies with a goal and four templates, while Leah Tilot scored her first two university goals. Khloe Rump, Grace Murtha, Maycee Vanderwall, Lauren Lagalo and Gracyn Gronski score individual goals. Vanderwall, Lexie Rump and Emma Keen added templates. Taryn Pratt earned her eighth shutout of the season and brought her brand from 2024.

Girls' route

Mita D2 Meet: With 1,218 points, Frankenmuth was fifth and Freeland sixth with 1,195.5 points in the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association State meeting on Friday in Berien Springs. Holland Christian won the team event with 1,531 points. Natalie Foltz gave the Eagles a title in the 1,600 meter run in 5 minutes and 8.35 seconds. Freeland earned a few state titles, with the newcomer Payton Maxey set up a personal record to win the start with a throw of 41 feet and 3 inches. Freeland also won the 3,200 season in 9: 37.22 behind Addie Seemann, McKenna Koehler, Karie Keefer and Clara Kaczor.

Boys' route

Mita D2 Meet: Frankenmuth finished fourth with 951.5 points, Alma was the seventh (905) and Swan Valley Neinte (833.5) in the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association State meeting in Berrien Springs on Friday. Battle Creek Harper Creek won the team title with 1,393 points. Swan Valley's Boston Streengherothher took first place in the 400-meter fittings board in 50.08 seconds.

Softball

Freeland 16-16, Bridgeport 0-0: Madeline McDonald led Freeland with six RBIs and three goals, including a Homer. Brynn Jaime also had three goals, with Sophia Price achieving the shutout win. In game 2, Jenna Kowalski had two goals and four RBIs for the falcons (18-12, 10-2). Grace Deshone had three goals, with Brielle Coffey winning.

Midland High 13-13, Cass City 1-3: Addie Edwards had three goals and drove in four runs to lead Midland to the victory of Game 1. Sydney Rhoton allowed two goals and set seven for victory. Maggie Frazee added two hits, including a Homer. In game 2, Emily Wendt led the chemics with four goals and three RBIs, with Edwards also driving in three runs. Taylor Paillist scored six when he won.

Reed City 11-0, Coleman 2-16: Klaira Sysak had a goal in the defeat of game 1, a walk and a RBI, but Coleman recovered to a four-in-end victory in game 2. Kendall everyone allowed four goals and a walk in four inner sessions to win, and added two hits and two runs on the plate. Isabelle Lewis and Eliza Lewis led the 16 to 18 comets each with two goals, while Sydney Bovee drove in three runs. Raegan McCoy went three times and drove in two runs. Elley Johnson, the only senior on the Coleman list, drove in two runs and scored three times.

Young golf

MSAC Meet: Charlie Cornford shot a 104 to lead St. Charles in the mid-state activity conference championship, which in the Emerald in St. Johns. Brenden servant followed with a 109.
